If you’ve been to Renzo, you probably picked up on our unabashed love for Piedmont wines. Nebbiolo both young and old, sparkling and still, Arneis, Barbera, Dolcetto, and their lesser-known friends Uva Rara, Grignolino, Erbaluce, Pelaverga, Freisa, Brachetto, and more have all made an appearance on our wine shelves since opening.
This Wednesday, we celebrate our love for Piedmont once again with a special one night only by-the-glass menu from 5-8pm and discounted bottles all night. But wait, there’s more! What better time to break out the truffles than a. a Piedmont event and b. the week before Christmas? Get real fancy with us and make it rain black truffles while you knock back a glass of Barolo and try real hard not to quote “Truffle Butter” all night.
With help from our friends the McCarus Beverage Company!
Join us Thursday, December 6 for the first in our Best Buds dinner series, featuring guest chef Drew DiTomo (formerly of the Vetri Family Restaurant group) all the way live from Philly!
Category is: childhood favorites, and with a bonafide South Philly Italian-American at the helm, expect some major red sauce vibes. Menu details to be released closer to, but rumblings of ravioli, Sunday gravy, and cold cut abbondanza have been made.
Break out your finest stretchy pants and make your reservations for the 6th, especially if you want to commandeer a booth. Reservations available via Resy, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling the restaurant.
Joder tio, it's baaaaaack! Bodegas Renzo, our Spanish-style bar takeover, returns this Monday, September 24. Kicking things off at 6pm and going as late as the zoning department says we can (that's 11pm, folks)!
Menu details to follow but you can expect snack-y stuff that's easy to eat while you focus on the main attraction: ridiculously garnished gin y tonic bowls.
Special vermouth selection featuring small-batch stuff from Casa Mariol and Partida Creus, plus sherry + lemon soda, Basque cider, and special prices on some pretty cool Spanish wines.
Hey guys, remember when we all read Plenty and Zahav and were like, holy shit, has hummus always been this good? Harken back to those days with us this upcoming Monday because we, too, want an excuse to slather tahini and za'atar and zhug on everything again with no regard for cultural boundaries.
Dinner service starts at 6pm and will feature a still-to-be-finalized menu of "not shawarma" (because we don't have a spit but maybe we can convince Erik) served with wood-fired pita, hummus, assorted pickles, and zhug plus an assortment of Medi-influenced vegetable dishes to pick at and share with your friends or just keep to yourself, no judgment here.
Keeping it super casual with walk-ins only, seat yourself style service. Featuring special wine deals that we think will pair nicely with the sort of bright, punchy Middle-Eastern flavors mentioned above plus housemade gazoz (like soda but healthy and more 'grammable) and one of Nayda's patented culturally-specific playlists.
Join us Saturday, August 11 from 11-2pm (or until we sell out of bagels!) for our first brunch pop-up! We’re baking off a ton of wood-fired bagels in flavors both familiar and unconventional, putting them up on the counter, and setting up assorted spreads, schmears, and fixins so you can build the bagel of your dreams. Smoked fish and other upgrades available as well! Thirsty? We’ll also have fresh juice, mimosas, bloodies, coffee, and some special deli-specific soft drink options.
Celebrate Spanish bar culture with us next Monday, July 30. We'll be open for Spanish-influenced snacks and beverages-- including gin tonics, sherry cocktails, kalimotxos, and specially-priced Spanish wines and ciders. Bar service only; no table reservations; first come, first serve. More menu details to come. Just the right mix of authentic and irreverent.
Opening up Monday, June 25th, for a Detroit pizza party! No regular menu available; just Detroit slices and a special selection of snacks. If you haven't been in for happy hour, this is a rare opportunity to try our Detroit-style pizza during evening hours.
We'll be featuring a particularly natty selection of wine for the evening at pretty special prices, too. Counter-service, first-come, first-serve all night. Hip-hop heavy playlist so, as the RZA once said, "leave your problems at home, leave your children at home."
Join us for Renzo's very first winemaker dinner, featuring none other than cult California producer Michael Cruse of Cruse Wine Co. We're teaming up with the McCarus Beverage Company to highlight Cruse's spring releases, including his unique take on California pétillant naturel, alongside a very special family-style dinner menu by Renzo chef Evan Gaudreau. Tickets are $70 and include five courses, including welcome snacks and dessert, as well as wine pairings. Please note that gratuity is not included.
In addition to the dinner, guests will have the opportunity to purchase Cruse's wines at exclusive prices. Please note that all wine purchases must be paid for that evening and will be available for pick-up starting Friday, May 25.
Immediately following the dinner, we will be hosting an after-party across the street at the Faculty Lounge (391 Huger Street) featuring both pet nats from the dinner and a hip-hop heavy playlist. The after-party is open to the public and does not require tickets. Start time is 10pm.
